Dear Ross Families:

We hope everyone had a safe and happy break with family and friends.  We are thankful for all of you!

Family Service Saturday, December 8th
The first day of our annual tree sale will also be our biggest service event this year, making sandwiches for the homeless and hungry served by Martha’s Table.  Martha’s Table serves over 500 sandwiches each day in our community, so we will need lots of helping hands. This will be a great opportunity for kids of all ages and will be a drop-in event so do join us to help us when you can.  Please RSVP and if you are able to, let us know if you can donate whole wheat bread, cheese, or meat for the sandwiches in the comment section of this Sign-Up Genius: (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0C48AEAD2EA5FE3-family)

Volunteers Still Needed for Holiday Tree Sale!
We are just under two weeks away from the Ross 11th Annual Holiday Tree Sale!  We could still use volunteers, particularly on the delivery side. Shifts are only 2.5 and there are lots of open slots.  Sign up HERE.  Email questions to kateemurphy@gmail.com

As it is CYBER MONDAY, please note that you can help by purchasing a tree from our online store for a discount through December 6th.  We even have delivery!  Even if you are not in town for the holidays or do not celebrate with a tree, you can still help by donating a tree to a family who might not otherwise be able to afford one!  Pre-purchased trees can be picked up or delivered on December 8 or 9.

Please also use social media, your networks, or other contacts to spread the word about the tree sale.  Here is a flyer you can use.  Are you on a neighborhood or apartment building listserv and you haven’t seen anything about the tree sale yet?  Please send along a message.

Bake Sale
Help with the Ross Elementary Annual Bake Sale!  We will be making/procuring yummy treats and selling them to the Ross community and neighborhood on Saturday, December 8th. How can you help? We need parents to donate BAKED GOODS or TIME to support the bake sale scheduled on Saturday, December 8th that runs from 9am – 4pm.  Please commit to a contribution of time or goods here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D4BAAA62BA2F49-annual

Community Events
Friends of Stead Park’s Annual Community Christmas Festival will be held on Saturday, December 8th at Foundry Church from 10:30-12:00.  This is a family fun event where you can have your picture taken with Santa (for free), engage in some seasonal crafts, enjoy a snack, and mingle & jingle with others in your community.  Their donation drive benefits the Homeless Children’s Playtime Project and we are asking for grocery store gift cards or pre-paid Metro cards that will go directly to these families during the holiday season.
