We are working hard at Ross to have a strong school opening. Boxes of school supplies are arriving daily and teachers are finalizing class schedules and plans. We look forward to welcoming your children to school online on Monday, August 31. In order to prepare your child for a successful experience, consider using the next two weeks to identify a place in your home for “school” and safe keeping of school supplies and materials. If bedtime routines have been off during summer, this is also a good time to begin to work on bedtime and morning routines to ensure your child is up, fed, and clothed with all necessary supplies ready before the daily 8:30 Morning Meeting begins. Children thrive on predictable structures and routines and now is the time to start creating routines for the new school year.
There are many important calendar items in this week’s bulletin related to school opening.

FY22 Budget Model Engagement
DCPS is taking a step back to holistically evaluate the budget model for FY22 and beyond. Our goal is to determine how we can best engage in transparent, equitable, and financially sustainable budgeting that empowers principals to use resources in a more flexible manner to improve student outcomes. Families and community members can complete the survey at publicinput.com/dcpsfy22budget to share their feedback (view flyer). There will also be a virtual Budget Town Hall held in September with details TBA.
Continue to regularly review the DCPS Reopen Strong website and Ross website for updates.
