Rain, rain go away! Unfortunately, we had some flooding in the lower level over the weekend due to all the rain. DGS provided clean-up over the weekend and contractors will be back tonight for a second, more thorough cleaning. We are fortunate that our losses are minimal and the flooding happened outside of the instructional day.

Over the next two weeks, our school community will practice our intruder lock-down drill and our evacuation drill. All DCPS schools regularly practice safety drills following established protocols. Our evacuation site has been temporarily changed to Marie Reed Elementary School while the EDCJCC undergoes a renovation. It is critical that you return the blue emergency form sent home at the beginning of the school year. If we ever need to do a real evacuation, only adults listed on that form (with identification) will be permitted to collect your child. We also request that you keep all contact information current.

Thank you for attending last week’s PTA meeting. We are so appreciative of the high level of parent engagement at Ross and we are grateful for your commitment to DC public schools. We look forward to celebrating the start of the school year with you at the PTA Potluck Picnic this Wednesday at 6:00pm.
