Dear Ross Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  The Ross PTA would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning families.  Thank you to those who attended Friday’s Open House and Popsicle playdate in the rain; It was great to see students reconnect with old friends and meet new ones on our new playground and field.

Here at Ross, we are fortunate to have a wonderful group of teachers and staff that are so dedicated to guiding our children through their elementary school experience.  It is the mission of the Ross School PTA to fully support our faculty so that they can create the best, most productive, educational experiences possible for the students.  The PTA does this by fundraising to support Ross teachers and by organizing events for Ross families to create a sense of community at our school. We hope that all Ross families will join the PTAvolunteer for our events, and consider joining a committee.

Join us for a welcome coffee tomorrow and Thursday this week on the playground starting at 8:15 a.m.  You will also have an opportunity to purchase school suppliesjoin the PTA, and buy or pick up merchandise all week at drop-off.  Please read on for important reminders and upcoming events.  Going forward, both the Principal’s & PTA Newsletters will be sent together on Mondays, as well as posted on our website.  We are looking forward to a great year working together as a community to support our school and students!

Sincerely,
Kate Gardner, on behalf of the Ross School PTA EB, 2019-2020

REMINDERS
School Supply Packages
Have you paid for school supplies yet?  For those families new to Ross, all students are asked to purchase school supply packages through the PTA for $100 per student.  The PTA gives the money to the teachers and staff to purchase what they need for each student and classroom, which also saves parents a trip to the store.  Please order your child’s school supply package here

Volunteer Clearance
Ross students enjoy field trips and enrichment experiences throughout the school year, but we need you to have volunteer clearance through DCPS to chaperone your child’s field trips.  Please click here to complete the volunteer clearance process.

Join the PTA!
We hope that every Ross family joins the PTA and aim for 100% participation each year.  We have suggested membership levels with Ross merchandise gifts as a special thank you for your support.  All donations are appreciated and can be paid either monthly or annually.  The Ross PTA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your donation is fully tax-deductible.
