Summer Updates: July 9, 2019
Facilities Update
We hope our families are enjoying summer break and new adventures.  If you have walked past the school, you have surely noticed all of the construction activity.  Our new Kompan playground is being constructed and the field replacement will follow.  Inside the building, we are painting all classrooms, cubbies, and hallways and our Cafe will receive new equipment.  The weeds in the front garden have not taken summer vacation, so please feel free to weed and water.  You are also welcome to the herbs and veggies in Nurse Gordon’s vertical planter.

Kids Ride Free
Your child will need a new Kids Ride Free card this school year.  The city is offering a number of distribution events over the summer.  Please see the attached form for details.

Girls on the Run
We will offer GOTR in the fall for girls in Grades 3-5. We typically meet two afternoons a week. Days will be determined by coach availability.  We are seeking a parent liaison to attend a mandatory GOTR training meeting and to manage registrations.  Please email Principal Searl if you are able to volunteer.  We also welcome parents who are interested in coaching the team.

Dear Ross Families:

We hope this email finds you well and enjoying this hot week in July.  As August is right around the corner, this is a friendly reminder to order your child’s 2019-2020 school supplies at our online store.  To save you from the mania of back to school shopping, the PTA collects $100 per student, which is then distributed directly to teachers so they may purchase exactly what is needed for their classroom.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

We hope to see you at the Open House “Sneak a Peek” on Friday, August 23.  After visiting your child’s classroom and meeting your child’s teachers, the PTA will have popsicles on the playground, as well as an opportunity to join the PTA and purchase school merchandise.

Enjoy the rest of Summer and see you in August!
