Dear Ross Families:

Thank you to everyone who attended our Back to School Picnic last Wednesday.  We hope you were able to catch up with old friends and welcome our new families to our Ross community.  A special thank you to our PTA Upper School Representative, Diane Frendak, for organizing!  We are already looking forward to our October community events, including the Walk to School Day the morning of October 10; our Ross Night out at D.C. United’s new Audi Field on October 21, and, of course, our Halloween event, the Spooktacular, on October 30. Sign up here to help with this fun night, along with other volunteer opportunities.

Sincerely,
Kate Gardner

New T-Shirts
The PTA is sending home new white Ross DCPS t-shirts this week.  We hope your child(ren) enjoy(s) some new school spirit merchandise!

PTA Membership Drive & Class Contest Update
About 14 new families have joined and we are now up to a rate of 63% of students at Ross who are PTA members.  The first two classes who reach 100% will get their own special free dress day or extra recess; the Blazing Unicorns at 85% and the Polite Pandas at 80% only need three more families each to get to 100%!
Did you join as a monthly member last year?  Those memberships do not renew, so please sign up again online at any level!  Thank you!  If you have not yet picked up your merchandise for joining, please see Ms. Campbell or a PTA Board Member at drop-off or between 8-12pm in the office.  Additional merchandise can be purchased in our online store, as well.  We should get our re-ordered youth baseball-style t-shirts back in next week.

School Supply Packages

Have you paid for school supplies yet?  For those families new to Ross, all students are asked to purchase school supply packages through the PTA for $100 per student.  The PTA gives the money to the teachers and staff to purchase what they need for each student and classroom, which also saves parents a trip to the store.  Please order your child’s school supply package here.

Volunteer Clearance
Ross students enjoy field trips and enrichment experiences throughout the school year, but we need you to have volunteer clearance through DCPS to chaperone your child’s field trips.  Please sign up here to get fingerprinted at Ross on September 25th.
