Ancient Greek Music - The Lyre of Classical Antiquity

Relax to the stylings of the ancient lyre, no auto-tuning going on here my friends! You can enjoy watching a video that shows art, Ancient Greek ruins and stunning photographs that coincide with mythology. The simplicity and beauty of this instrument makes me wonder what it must have been like to live during the time when the lyre was the instrument of choice.

Video: Malala Yousafzai Nobel Peace Prize Speech 2014

Malala addresses the United Nations Speech Assembly just nine months after the Taliban shot her. The video is very powerful and shows you how strong, loving and compassionate she is when this video was shot, when she was just sixteen years old. Her speech covers such topics non-violence, forgiveness, and the importance of access to education for all. This video will touch your heart; it is very humbling and made me shed a few tears. I hope it will inspire you to greatness now and in the future.

This website depicts the life of Cesar Chavez’s struggles from migrant worker to human right’s champion. It contains real photographs in a four minute video. Real artifacts and speakers will help you connect and emphasize with the sacrifices that Chavez made. I highly recommend this video because I think it will help you make stronger connections to Chavez’s fight for freedom. There is a ten second ad before the video but please be PATIENT and wait for the video.

Urdu Kids

Learn the alphabet and simple words with this video. I know it looks like it is for little kids, but come on; we are little kids when it comes to learning Urdu. This colorful video is set to a familiar song; at least I hope you’ll still think it is familiar!

Seeing the beauty of the symbols and how to read and write them puts how hard learning a new language is in perspective. Give it a try, maybe you can write me a note in Urdu, but you will have to read it to me.
