Principal’s Bulletin 12.10.18
Many, many thanks to our parent and faculty volunteers who generously donated their time to our Tree Sale, Bake Sale and related activities last weekend. Children and families made hundreds of sandwiches for Martha’s Table, enjoyed STEM challenges with Ross faculty, and created bird seed ornaments for our feathered friends. It was a true community effort and a lot of fun, too. We still have trees available for sale. Please spread the word to your networks.
Thanks also to parent Dayna Baer for representing Ross at the EDFest with me. We had fun meeting a few Ross alums.
The My School DC Lottery officially opened today. All current Ross students in PK3-Grade 4 have a right to remain at Ross for the next grade if all DC enrollment and residency requirements are met during re-enrollment in Spring 2019. Re-enrollment for the 2019.20 school year begins in April. If you plan to have your child remain at Ross for the coming year, you DO NOT need to enter the lottery. Current Grade 5 students may attend SWW@Francis-Stevens or Cardozo Education Campus. If you currently reside outside of the Ross boundary, you also have a right to a spot in Grade 6 at your neighborhood feeder school. If you do not plan to return to Ross next year, please inform us. Kindly note that we ask for a two week turn around to prepare recommendation forms and paperwork if you are applying out to independent schools. All paperwork, including teacher recommendation forms, will be sent directly to the requesting school. Ms. Campbell and I are available to answer your lottery and enrollment related questions. Lottery information is at www.MySchoolDC.org
