Principal’s Weekly Update
Many thanks to the PTA for coordinating the DC United family outing on Sunday. Students have been sharing positive reflections of the event. Our next family event is our “Spook-tacular” on Tuesday, October 30 at 6:00pm on the Ross playground. Students (and families) are encouraged to wear their costumes and join us as we parade around the block. This is one of our most popular events of the school year. You won’t want to miss it. Please note that children must be accompanied by adults at the Spook-tacular. They may not be dropped off without a parent/guardian present to supervise.
Lost and Found and Dress Code
The cold weather means coats, hats, mittens and ear-muffs will be coming to school with your child. Please take a moment to label your child’s belongings. Our Lost and Found is overflowing.
If your child needs an extra layer of warmth in the classroom, kindly make note of the Ross Dress Code policy from the Ross Handbook: Extra layer for warmth in the classroom: Ross hooded sweatshirt, or solid navy, white or light blue sweater, sweatshirt, cardigan or vest. No branding or logos. Clarifying examples: patterned and/or branded hoodies worn as outwear to school are acceptable. Once inside, just like other outerwear, they are to be removed. The Ross hoodie may be worn as outerwear and as a uniform item of clothing.
Check out our “uniform swap” located just next to the Lost and Found near Officer Woodley’s desk. We welcome donations of clean, gently used uniform clothing throughout the school year.
